🚀 Software Developer (C# / .NET, Cloud)
📍 Remote (UK)
💻 The Opportunity
This company is entering a transformative phase, evolving a well-established Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) into a cloud-native, AI-augmented platform supporting the NHS. This role sits at the heart of that journey, helping move from traditional document storage into the world of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
You’ll join a product focused engineering team building scalable, secure and highly observable cloud services that directly improve patient outcomes and NHS efficiency.
How They Build
Their engineering culture is defined by Trust, Care and Innovation, with a principled approach to SaaS delivery:
- Reliability over cleverness – simple, maintainable solutions beat complex abstractions
- Observability from day one – production insight is built into the code
- Cloud-native by design – event-driven, decoupled architectures (Azure Functions, Service Bus, Blob Storage; similar patterns used in AWS)
- AI governance – AI-generated output meets the same quality standards as human-written code
- Security & privacy by design – zero trust principles aligned with NHS requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Feature delivery: Build scalable microservices in C# / .NET 8, optimised for high-volume document ingestion
- Technical contribution: Take part in technical discovery and architectural decision-making (documented using ADRs)
- Automation mindset: Identify and remove manual toil through smart automation
- Quality ownership: Implement unit and end-to-end tests within Azure DevOps pipelines
- Collective ownership: Work in a “fix first, blame never” culture with blameless post-mortems
- Continuous learning: Share knowledge and stay current with cloud-native and AI technologies
